Code of Conduct, Yoga Teacher Training 

  1. Deposits are non refundable and is payable as soon as your application has been approved. 
  2. There is no application fee.
  3. All yoga teacher training course fees are to be paid before the start of your course. (unless agreed terms apply).
  4. any  yoga teacher training course fees are non-refundable 
  5. If student drops out mid-way due to unavoidable/unforeseen circumstances a place will be given on the next yoga teacher training course at an agreed fee.
  6. In the event of an agreed payment plan you must agree to complete all the payments.
  7. Emily Young Yoga and Young Wellbeing Ltd holds all rights to change YTT course contents and or YTT course structure and locations.
  8. As you will learn in the beginning of your course, the great sage Maharishi Patanjali developed rules for social conduct (yamas), as well as individual conduct (niyamas). It is our expectation that students will follow and practice the yamas and niyamas to the best of their ability.
  9.  Daily asana classes include physical practice and methodology. One should be prepared for physical activity and willing to follow the instructor despite their personal experience or preference. 
  10.  The schedule is subject to change. As we are learning in yoga, it is important to be flexible, physically and mentally. We must be willing to adapt to changes.
  11. Please take all belongings with you when you leave the yoga school each night.
  12. Smoking and drinking alcohol are strictly prohibited in the yoga shala.
  13. Set times for silence must be observed.
  14. Students are required to come to class prepared and on time, with all supplies requested for that class.
  15. Use of any electronic devices, mobile phones or social media is strictly prohibited during class time. Tutors will advise where devices are suitable for learning purposes.
  16. Please keep disruptions to a minimum, leaving class only if necessary
  17. Accountability: You are responsible for your own education. What you put in is what you will get out. If you show up to class, pay attention, ask questions, and practice your own personal study, then you will learn from this course.
  18. Respect: Respect yourself, your peers, and staff. This includes showing up to class on time with all materials and speaking kindly with others. Be conscious that everyone is on their own journey and this is where our paths meet. We are all coming from different places and we need to be open to listening and learning from each other. “People are doing the best that they can from there level of consciousness.”- Deepak Chopra
  19.  Discipline: Self study is part of the required hours. Each night you are required to study course materials. Svadhyaya (self-study) is one the niyamas. It is important to practice studying materials, as well as practicing self-reflection during your time here. Self discipline is an integral part of the course, therefore the course regimen must be strictly observed.
  20.  Positive Attitude: Have a positive outlook on this experience. Release any expectations, and be present in each moment. Please remember your energy and words affect those around you.
  21. Attendance to the yoga teacher training course sessions should be 90% . If any content is missed, students can attend the next course to make up content. Alternatively can attend another provider with approval forms the course leader and at a cost to the trainee. If attended with another provider, the trainee should provide a written evaluation fo the content to the course leader before completion of the course. 
  22. Students should only practice their teaching with family or friends, and provide written consent via a PARQ or disclaimer form from family and freinds stipulating they are aware the student in unqualified and any yoga class is part of a training program.
  23. A failing student of 200hrs yoga teacher training course:
  24. If a student is not meeting the required standards the tutor can provide agreed extra class/es within reason to go over the yoga teacher training course material and practice asana, pranayama or discuss the theoretical aspects. An additional fee may apply. A time/venue will be mutually arranged. If the students standard does not improve they will have the opportunity to repeat the course, or have the option of accepting a foundation level certificate.
  25. Students should not advertise themselves , not charge as qualified yoga teachers until they have received their certification, thus maintain the professionalism and authenticity of this yoga practice and Emily Young Yoga School. Students found to be teaching yoga will be in breach of these terms. 
  26. Students should purchase appropriate student insurance, in particular when teaching in public settings.
  27. 200hrs Yoga Teacher training certification:
  28. Students will undergo an intensive assessment period of teaching. These will be assessed and evaluated by a course tutor and if available an external assessor may be invited They will be assessed through a variety of methods that show your knowledge, understanding and application of yoga teaching practice. These include: A reflective journal; a critical essay or podcast; A presentation and teaching practicum
  29. In order to receive the yoga teacher training certificate from Young Wellbeing Ltd, the student will need to demonstrate they have inculcated the asanas and pranayamas to standard whereby they can teach with confidence from their own experience of the practice.
    Students will need to have demonstrated a yogic attitude through their conduct over the course, their homework and yogic attitude encompassing the yamas and niyamas specifically.
  30. We are happy to explain these terms and conditions, however they are non-negotiable. Following the code of conduct is a requirement for your yoga teacher training.
